Track your expenses.
Keep your finances private.
Dribs is an expense tracker for iPhone and iPad that never connects to your bank. You log what you spend in a few taps, or import a CSV from your bank, and everything is stored in a database on your device. There's no account to create, and syncing through your own iCloud is optional.
An expense tracker that doesn't need your bank login.
Most finance apps start by asking for your banking password. Dribs starts with the numbers you choose to enter.
Stored on your device
Transactions, accounts and categories live in a local database on your iPhone or iPad. The app works fully offline and catches up on exchange rates when you're back online.
No bank login, ever
Dribs has no bank integration, so it never asks for your online-banking password and no aggregator sits between you and your bank.
No sign-up, no ads
There is no Dribs account to create. The app shows no ads and contains no advertising, attribution or tracking SDKs.
Your iCloud, if you want it
Sync is off until you turn it on. Then your data travels through Apple's CloudKit, inside your own iCloud account, which Dribs can't read.
Hide amounts in public
One switch in Settings replaces every figure with dots, so you can open the app on a train without showing your balance.
Your data, backed up on your terms.
Because no Dribs server keeps a copy of your finances, you decide how they're backed up. All three options are optional:
- iCloud sync keeps your iPhone and iPad in step through Apple's CloudKit. It's off by default.
- Backups save a compressed snapshot of your whole database to the app's folder in iCloud Drive, when you tap Back Up Now or automatically every day or week. You can restore any of them later.
- Share Current Database exports the complete database file through the iOS share sheet, so you can keep a copy wherever you like.
Dribs doesn't export to CSV today. Bringing data in is a different story: see how CSV import works.
What leaves your device, and what doesn't
The financial details you enter are never sent to Dribs. To convert currencies, the app downloads exchange rates over the internet; those requests contain no transactions, balances or personal details.
Crash reports are on by default so bugs can be fixed. They're scrubbed on your device before sending and never include your financial content. Read the privacy policy for the full picture.
Frequently asked questions
How do I turn off crash reports?
In Dribs, open Settings and switch off Share Crash Reports. Nothing else in the app changes.
Can I lock Dribs with Face ID?
Yes, through iOS itself: touch and hold the Dribs icon on your Home Screen and choose Require Face ID. Dribs doesn't add a separate lock of its own.
What happens to my data if I lose my iPhone?
If iCloud sync or backups were on, install Dribs on your new device with the same Apple Account and restore from iCloud. If neither was on, the data only existed on the lost device and can't be recovered, because Dribs has no copy of it.
How do I delete my data?
Delete records in the app, or delete the app. If you used iCloud sync or backups, also remove the Dribs data in your iPhone's iCloud storage settings. Dribs holds no copy that would need deleting.
Is Dribs available on Android or the web?
No. Dribs is available for iPhone and iPad only, running iOS or iPadOS 26.1 or later.
